Requiem by CrypticManifestation Requiem by CrypticManifestation
"Y si la fortuna o el azar
me dan la oportunidad
de volvernos a ver
juro que jamás te ocultare
lo que hay dentro de mi ser
te abrire mi corazon"

Roughly translated to:

"And if fortune or fate
will give us a chance
to see each other again
I swear I shall not hide
what lies within my being
I shall open you my heart"

I finally got a chance to post this. I started working on this piece while listening to Mago de Oz's song Requiem (thus the name) while also seeing real snow falling and sticking to the ground really hard for the first time in my life. This is a very subtly symbolic piece for me and enjoyed working on it a lot.

Besides that this piece also was full of experimentation. For the first time I did a full piece on a hard brush. Also tried new techniques of doing trees and hair(still considering if I like them or not), also my first try at doing something as alien to me as snow is, plus the falling snow is also my first and most basic try at creating my own brushes for photoshop.

As always comments and critiques are encouraged.

I really like this. The details of the trees and the girl, the depth of field you've given with the blurring of the snow, it looks great. The words go very nicely with it too.

Nice try.. the pink to blue is one big problem,
And I think you can draw at least some snow on the left side of the trees?

i wouldnt say the pink to blue is a big problem, there are occasions where the fading in the sky happens real fast which was the effect I was going for. The actual problem was like agajasiek pointed out the branch in between makes it look too fast.

And about the snow on the left side, you mean like snow stuck on the side?

So that means that branch is really not place at the right place. XD

And I notice you didn't draw the snow that is far away, that would make the scene more realist.. or that is not what you're going for.. ?

Cool effect!

Maybe the sky changes too fast from pink to blue. With that branch it look too fast for me.

you do have a point, i should have either extended the pink light or faded more to blue the area around it, ill experiment with it in a little bit.
